Hosted Apple Silicon in the EU,
compared honestly.
Every iOS and macOS build has to run on real Apple hardware, and the EU market for it is small, expensive and frequently out of stock. This page compares Scaleway, MacStadium, Oakhost and Braeburn on the things that actually decide a purchase: monthly price, contract terms, where the machine physically sits, and whether you can get one today.
We sell one of these. So every number below carries a link to the provider's own pricing page and the date we read it — check us.
Base M4 Mac mini, 16 GB
The workhorse tier — enough for Xcode builds, simulators, signing and notarization. Storage differs between providers and is noted per row.

M4 Mac mini, 32 GB
More RAM per box means more parallel simulators and Linux containers beside the macOS build. Configurations diverge most in this tier — read the config column before comparing the prices.

Not a like-for-like row: MacStadium's M4.M is 24 GB / 512 GB, less machine than the 32 GB / 1 TB boxes beside it. Oakhost is the cheapest listed price in this tier — €135 + VAT is €160.65 gross, and a VAT-registered business reclaims that. We are not cheaper than Oakhost on paper; we are available.
M4 Pro, 64 GB
For heavy parallel builds and large test matrices. Thin demand everywhere, so stock is the scarcest here.

The EU problem isn't price. It's empty shelves.
On the day we checked, Oakhost — the cheapest EU provider on list price — had 9 of its 11 plans out of stock, including every M4 and every Pro tier. Only the M1.L (16 GB / 1 TB, €85) and M2.S (8 GB / 256 GB, €85) could actually be ordered. MacStadium takes M4 orders only on an annual contract in quantities of three or more, and says its M4 inventory is low. That leaves Scaleway as the one EU provider where a single current-generation M4 can be bought today, at €149 + VAT.
An honest caveat about our own argument: sold-out shelves can reflect a provider's capital decisions rather than raw demand. Oakhost may simply not be buying inventory right now. Either way, the practical situation for a European team in August 2026 is the same — one in-stock option for a new M4.
That gap is the entire reason Braeburn exists, and it is also the honest weakness of our own listing: we don't have machines racked yet. We're building the first rack from the waitlist. If you need a Mac this afternoon, Scaleway is the answer, and we'd rather tell you that than waste your email.
How to read this table
Comparisons in this market are usually rigged by the person publishing them. Here is exactly what we did, so you can catch it if we did.
- Configs are grouped, not identical
- Providers don't sell matching SKUs. We grouped by chip and RAM — the two things that set build speed — and printed storage in every row, because that's where the differences hide. Oakhost's entry M4 has 512 GB against our 256 GB: more disk for less money. MacStadium's mid tier is 24 GB, not 32 GB. Read the config column before the price column.
- Prices are list prices, excluding tax
- Scaleway states "prices before tax"; Oakhost lists net and shows 19% VAT separately; MacStadium publishes USD without stating tax treatment. Braeburn charges no VAT at all under the German small-business scheme (§ 19 UStG), so our number is the invoice amount, not a net figure with tax to follow. For a VAT-registered business buying in the EU, VAT is reclaimable and therefore roughly neutral — compare the net column. For everyone else, it isn't.
- Currency conversions are marked as such
- USD prices are converted at the ECB reference rate of 2026-07-31 and marked with ≈. They drift with the exchange rate, and a US provider also bills you in a currency your finance team may not want. Treat the € figure as indicative only.
- Availability is what the page said that day
- "Out of stock" is the provider's own label, read 2026-08-02. Stock changes; this page doesn't update itself. If a row looks wrong, the source link next to the provider name is the live truth and we'd like to hear about it.
- No benchmarks
- We have not published build-time or benchmark numbers here. We haven't run that test across four providers, and an invented benchmark is worse than none. The chip and RAM columns are the honest proxy: the same M4 is the same M4 in every rack.
- What we left out
- Bandwidth allowances, support response times, KVM and remote-power features, and per-provider network quality all differ and none of them are in this table. They matter; they're just not comparable from public pages without a testing budget.
